Today is my 29th birthday. I was recently inspired to write a poem a day for an entire year. Since my birthday was approaching, I decided to begin this endeavor on my birthday, and to title the entire project “Twenty-Nine”. Each day of my 29th year, the last year I will spend in my 20’s, I will write a new poem. A great many of them will be utter crap, I will admit that right up front. But I’m hoping that at least a few of the days of this coming year will produce some decent, and perhaps excellent, pieces of poetry. And if things go really well, maybe I’ll get a few songs out of it and record an album titled “29” before Adele does the same thing.
The idea of writing (and publishing, just to keep myself accountable) something every single day for 365 days is a little terrifying. There’s certainly no way I’d have ever thought to do such a thing if I hadn’t embarked on my daily blog challenge during February. That experience has given me the insane confidence to attempt this new challenge. I think it’s important to push myself artistically, and daily writing projects are turning into a good way to do so.
That being said, I’d also like to mention that things on the blog are about to change a bit. But if you just read my posts thru the WordPress reader, you won’t notice. Ha!
Also, I will still keep blogging about My Spark Joy Journey. I know it’s been a couple weeks since I’ve posted, but I’ve had a lot going on. Hopefully I’ll get back to sharing about the process soon. It’s been pretty intense!
Thank you for reading, and much love to you all!
